Real-time

Positions that reflect what is actually happening

Moving vehicles update every 10 to 30 seconds. Every 60 seconds when they are stopped with the ignition on, and every 5 to 10 minutes once it is switched off, so the battery lasts. The map receives updates over a persistent connection, not a slow polling loop.

Asset statuses

Statuses are worked out from ignition, speed and voltage

At 07:40 you have eleven vans out and one still on the yard in Mrieħel. Every one of them carries a status you never typed in, and it changes as the vehicle does. Filter the map by it, or sort the asset list by Last Moved to find the tracker that has not stirred in a week.

Fifteen states in three groups. Six of them describe the tracker rather than the vehicle, and the difference matters when you decide who to call.

The engine is running, whether or not the vehicle is going anywhere.

Idle sits with the moving assets in the filters, not the stopped ones. That catches people out, and it is right: the engine is running.

Ignition off

The engine is off. Where it stopped decides which of the two you see.

Parked
Stopped, engine off
Garage
Stopped at a location you have marked as home or depot

Mark the depot as a home location. Without one, the whole fleet reads Parked overnight and nothing reads Garage.

These six describe the tracker, not the vehicle.

Offline is silence. No location is a tracker talking to you while telling you it cannot see the sky.

Two statuses worth acting on

Idle

An engine running while the van goes nowhere is fuel you are paying for: a chiller, a power take-off, a driver waiting with the aircon on. The dashboard totals idle time per vehicle, so the habit shows up against a name instead of against the fleet.

Power Disconnected

A tracker that loses its supply is either a wiring fault or somebody pulling the fuse. On a vehicle that is out working, you want to hear about it the same day rather than at month end.

Set up the Power Cut alert

Two limits worth knowing. Calibrated voltage detection is what stops a vehicle reading as Parked while it is being driven, and only the FMC003, FMB003 and FMC130 support it. If a tracker is not wired to the ignition, our support team calibrates it for you.

Engine fault codes are not statuses. They need OBD-capable hardware, and they live with vehicle diagnostics.

Trail view and heatmaps, for when you need more than a position

Trail view shows the last 100 GPS points for any vehicle as a color-coded path, so you can see speed changes at a glance. Heatmap overlays surface idle hotspots, traffic congestion, and frequently visited areas without reaching for a report.

Frequently asked

Moving vehicles report position every 10 to 30 seconds. A vehicle stopped with the ignition on reports every 60 seconds, and once it is switched off that stretches to every 5 to 10 minutes, which is what keeps the tracker battery alive. The map reflects these updates in real time via a persistent connection to the server.

Yes. The Live Map uses automatic clustering that groups nearby vehicles at lower zoom levels, with counts (e.g. 12) shown for each cluster. This keeps the map readable whether you have 5 vehicles or 500. Filtering by asset group, driver, or status also lets you focus on a subset instantly.

Green arrows indicate moving vehicles with directional pointing. Yellow circles show vehicles that are Idle, meaning the engine is running but the vehicle is stationary. Grey circles represent Parked vehicles, or Garage when they are at a location you have marked as home or depot. Other statuses cover Speeding, Offline and Power Disconnected. Hovering any marker shows the vehicle name, status, and last-updated timestamp.

Yes. Trail View overlays the last 100 GPS positions as a color-coded breadcrumb trail on the map, with color variations showing speed changes along the path. For older history, the Reports module provides complete trip replay by date.

Yes. Yipii IoT runs as a Progressive Web App, so the Live Map works in any mobile browser without an app download. Pinch-to-zoom and drag-to-pan work as expected on touch devices.
